Our approach

We don't currently use any analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on careerinenergy.com or the CIE app. The notice you may see on your first visit is just that — an honest heads-up, not a request to opt in or out of cookies we don't set.

What we do use

If you log in, your session is kept using your browser's local storage, not a cookie — it's what keeps you signed in between visits and is strictly necessary for the account area to work. If you're part of our team previewing unpublished content changes, a short-lived preview cookie is used, but it has no effect on, and isn't set for, ordinary visitors.

If this changes

If we ever add analytics or any other non-essential cookie in future, we'll update this page first and ask for your consent before it's set, as required by law.

Controlling cookies yourself

Every modern browser lets you see and delete cookies for any site, and block them going forward, in its privacy or settings menu. Since we don't set non-essential cookies, there's nothing on our site this would affect — but note that blocking local storage entirely will stop you from staying logged in.
